Accelerating Growth and Human Development

The Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) has organized a major dissemination event entitled BIDS Research ALMANAC 2016. This is an annual event where BIDS researchers discuss their research findings based on recently completed work before a distinguished public audience. 

This year we have planned to present a total of 11 papers and half a dozen posters over the two days, covering a range of topics from labour markets and skills, to food prices, agricultural value chains, health and education, renewable energy and exports. 

The closing session has been designed to focus specifically on the dramatic global changes that are taking place and which may threaten or reshape the world economic order.  A distinguished panel has been put together to assess what strategic alternatives Bangladesh could consider in response.
