BIDS Policy Resource Programme has an immediate vacancy for the post of "accountant" for an initial period of six months. The desired candidate must have a professional qualification in accountancy or a related subject and several years experience. Remuneration is competitive. Deatailed job description:

1. Overall project financial management, control and procurement; maintain books of account both manually and in computerised form.
2. Prepare quarterly call forward and expenditure report, and budget variance with bank reconciliation, and statement of cash receipt by bank account for donor as per prescribed format.
3.Prepare annual financial report and assist in facilitating annual audit.
4. Oversee petty cash management and monitor advance.
5. Keep the personnel records of the project employees.
6. Prepare vouchers and make payments by checking bills and invoices.
7. Liase with donors, BIDS, bank and others as needed.
8. Review VAT and tax statement and ensure deposit to Bangladesh Bank.
9. Prepare monthly expenditure report and budget variance with bank reconcilition and statement of petty cash as per prescribed format
10. Support to seminars, workshops as and when needed
