Seminar
A seminar on "Primary schooling, student learning, and school quality in rural Bangladesh" is going to be held on Thursday, 28 August at 3 pm at the BIDS seminar room (E-17, Agargaon, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar,Dhaka1207). Professor M. Niaz Asadullah of University of Malaya will make the keynote presentation. Professor Asadullah is also the Deputy Director of Centre for Poverty and Development Studies (CPDS) of the Faculty of Economics and Administration in the same university. A seminar on 'Monetary Policy Statement: July-December 2014' has been held at BIDS Conference Room on August 14, 2014 (Thursday) at 11:00 am. The keynote paper was presented by  Dr. Monzur Hossain, Senior Research Fellow, BIDS. Dr. Mustafa K. Mujeri, Director General, BIDS chaired the session and Dr. Atiur Rahman, Governor Bangladesh Bank graced the occasion as chief guest.

Evaluation Study of Second Small Scale Water Resources Development Sector Project

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The broad purpose of the LGED implemented subprojects under Second Small Scale Water Resources Development Sector Project (SSWRDSP-2) was to improve water management, flood management, drainage improvement, water conservation and command area development, benefiting a net area of up to 1,000 hectares in each subproject with a view to increasing production in agriculture and fishery, and generating more income and employment, thereby contributing to the overall reduction in poverty...............More
