Research and Publication committee meeting

A special meeting of the Research and Publication committee (R&P) of Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) was convened on Sunday, 12 April, 2015 with the objective of developing a short term research agenda for BIDS that would reflect national concerns and development priorities of the country. Each of five divisions of BIDS (General Economics, Agriculture and Rural Development, Industry and Physical Infrastructure, Human Resources and Population Studies) highlighted the challenges and policy research gaps facing the country from their particular divisional perspectives. This was followed by intense brainstorming. The exercise has paved the way for articulating a clear, comprehensive and vital set of research issues to be addressed by BIDS over the next 1-2 years. The full proposal will be placed before the BIDS Board of Trustees for approval.
The meeting was convened by the R&P convenor Dr. Abul Basher. Dr. K.A.S. Murshid, Director General, presided over the meeting.
